Battery monitor
« on: August 21, 2019, 02:09:53 PM »
I decided to try one of these gadgets. It attaches to the battery, and records the voltage once every minute. It keeps a record of the past 30 days or so. You then put your smartphone near it and it grabs the battery history. When the phone is connected, it updates closer to real time. Sort of a data loger / oscilloscope.

I've had it attached to a battery that I charge from a solar panel to monitor the charge controller. It keeps a nice log of the charge voltage.

It also will grab the low voltage dip when you start your car, and test the charge output. Might be handy so someone having charging trouble. Only a bit over $20.

I’m a sucker for gadgets- I just ordered one.  Looks interesting and I’m going to put in on the Convert since you need a battery to make it go....
