Well, I’m staying away from Dahlonega on Saturday (too bad because the wife wanted to go there while at the rally.) There is a white supremacist rally. So there will be protesters and counter protesters according to the local radio station. Geez, I’m avoiding Dahlonega this coming weekend.
Dollar General for supplies(food/beer,etc). Don't need to go to town. Got some exploring plans, off the beaten paths most likely end up on a few dirt roads.👍💕👽Hey who wants to hit Helen for good German food /beer late morning before the crowd gathers?
My wife and I will be riding to Helen for some Schnitzel! We ride slow though so not many others would want to come with. Im old now and have slowed down. lol
No need to go near Dahlonega, though it is typically a nice place to visit. If you are not familiar with Hell-un, I can give you some ideas where to visit. Octoberfest has likely started, so expect large crowds.
TMy wife already has decided we’re heading to Helen, and I’m sure it will be crowded but we will handle it!
Pictures please . Thanks Dusty
Made it home to Tampa at 6:30, slabbing it all the way. We ( my friend Craig on the Concourse ) only hit about 5 minutes of rain in FL. Craig was truly impressed by the friendliness of the Guzzi people and was especially thankful to whoever it was who offered a dry bed in a cabin when his tent got flooded in that Saturday rain. Craig probably won't ever own a Guzzi, but he has respect.
Bob, it was good seeing you again, and what a treat meeting your wife Peggy!Friday night was some sweet tent sleeping weather and a break from the heat.Saturday ride lift off was approx 10am and Wayne showed us all the smooth way to hustle a bike around the north Georgia mountain roads.Another successful outing at T.W.O.in Suches,GA.
Had a good relaxing time. Put on a whopping 150mi Not many pics-- It was good to see you Steve. Hopefully you make it to my camp out at my place in October! You can adjust my bikes valves, change fluids etc on the Stelvio for me. Lol I’m getting lazy in my old age! Later dude!!
Sorry I missed it. But I was in Europe as a first timer touring the Alps on a rented Triumph Tiger 800. Insane is the only way to describe it. From the famous hairpin switch backs to the got-to-experience-it-to-believe-it tail-gating, to the crazy bonsai passing anywhere, anyplace, the riders make over there! You just have to see it to believe it. But I did get my Stelvio Pass T-shirt. 9000 feet and 45 switch-backs. Like I said-crazy. I can't believe people ride bicycles up that thing! Sounds like a great trip! Welcome back.
I did find out how long it takes to make a Cuban sandwich,a hell of a long time and it depends on which table your sitting at!
Only because they had to remove the pickle.
Pickleless Cuban... Almost as bad as going down 60 to get to Morganton.
No, down 60 is Dahlonega.
