P.C. Police

I’m befuddled. I applied to the RMV/dot for a vanity plate for my 21 V7/850
Guzzi , NA (not available) . Guzzi , nope NA . Guzzy , available cool . I just received a letter from said agency telling me my request was denied because it is derogatory in that it disparages or belittles someone or something !
I thought my library of off color & blue language was pretty expansive. Please PM me & tell me what i missed .
Curious.

I'm guessing about 10 minutes, that's about how long it takes today for a new phrase / word to have some sort of "street" meaning,  all completely BS  (oops that's not PC)

Years ago, we bought our motorhome and I went in to get  PASNGAS as a vanity plate, Nope too suggestive ???. So I re applied for PASNSO2, got it without a second look from the DMV professional. Clueless at best. Good luck with your other choices.

I always thought Dolche would be a "sweet" vanity plate. But I got a 1980 plate at The Davenport, Ia. Swap meet to match the bike

In the late 70's my neighbor snuck "phuque" past the California DMV. Always admired his creativity.

The closest I’ve come to vanity plates was registering my 77 Guzzi and 78 Ducati one digit apart.  The RMV clerk was nice enough to find two sequential plates with nice numbers. It’s only cool if they are parked next to each other, but that’s ok.  Being here in a tourist town, I always wanted “gohome” for my car but I’m too cheap to pay a plate fee every year.

when I was getting my AK vanity mc plate for the CalVin, tried GUZZI was taken but got GUZZI1...try that or GUZZI2, GUZZ1 etc!
a year or two ago there was a big stink here about some offensive plates( was HH88 or similar), made news and now DMV has strong filter when selecting....tried a lot of combos for fun, did not work!

here it is:

Bike vanity plates in CT are limited to five characters. They do have a bunch of different types. Several different Veterans plates.

  In Nebraska the thieves charge(EXTRA) 75$ per year+registration fee----so the ol"Fubar tried making his own plate as an add on,that was not very impressive------later I came across a site on E-Bay that will print ANYTHING you want on a moto size plate under $20..Ive bought several verry verry happy     :thumb:       Just look up VANITY PLATES----you can thank me later     :boozing:

I like some vanity plates I see, but I am not paying extra money every year for a plate that I should be able to move from motorcycle to motorcycle since I can only ride one at a time.

Curious.

A case of some DMV government plankton finding the entry on Urbandictionary.com and being too lazy to see if this was a case of a drunken teenager who made it up for his 15 minutes of fame or if it was an actual bit of slang used commonly in the town of Poole, England in the 2000's. (And in which case, who cares?)  Many of the "slang" terms on this Urbandictionary.com are hilarious, but not real. It's sport for adolescents to see which can get the most "thumbs up".

If some undeveloped brain decides to post "Guzzi" as a slang word for penis on Urbandictionary.com, undoubtedly some WildGuzzi members (excuse the pun.) will have to turn in their plates next year.

I had to look up hh88. It looks like 88 is used as well. My boat racing number was 88. It was issued to me by the sanctioning body. My actual number was 88-C.

A vintage car rally I go on annually that goes through some really rough country, has a collection of 1931 and earlier vehicles on it that range from the pristine (at the start anyway) to the "not so pristine ).  On of the latter managed to squeeze the plate,  ASHITA  through the system.  Don't know whether the bureaucrats thought it must be Japanese or whether they were to highbrow to recognize A SHITTER.
