A 4" sanding disc attachment in my drill with 1000 grit for the worst spots followed by a firm 4" buffing pad and Griot's metal polish over everything.

Got the inner plugs done today. How many sockets does it take to find one that fits within the narrowest clearance known to mankind? 8 :thewife:

Three of which I already owned and of course didn't fit. I ordered 5 others off Amazon and these two got the job done:

Going to leave those links there for anyone searching in the future.

And I lied about the Oxford box. Once everything was back together it just barely interfered with the seat so I moved it further down the side. Bike fired right up and settled into a perfect idle now that it's no longer choking for air.

As much of a pain as removing the tank and airbox are, it wasn't quite as bad as doing it on my Griso  :thumb:

Had a great ride this morning. I withdraw my original comparsion to the 1200 8v motor. Now that the intake strangler has been removed, the 1100 is really moving :thumb:

Then while it was still hot I took care of the throttle body balance. It wasn't too out of wack but it's still good to check another maintenance task off the list.

I have noticed a couple tiny oil drips after rides. It's coming from the back of the engine, somewhat higher up. I'm hoping it's the oil pan gasket rather than the rear main which I wouldn't expect to be leaking at this mileage. Not sure if there's anything else back there that can leak oil. I think that will be a winter job though.

Because Italian bike shouldn't be understated, I got a 2nd set of valve covers and they just came back from powder coating  :evil:
