1973 v7 Sport refresh

<< < (10/10)

Scout63:
Finally getting back into the Sport today.  I checked new ring end gaps in the n/s plated cylinders and installed rings on the pistons. One of the few steps that I can handle on the kitchen counter with a clear conscience.

I’m not sure exactly what was done to the engine Steve. The crank has been filed here and welded there so definitely balanced.  The pistons have three rings instead of four and stock spec rings fit fine with one top ring left over on each side.

Thanks for the encouragement Dave.

Scout63:
Hello Everyone.  The project is slowly working its way back to the fore.  I’ve been off the site for a bit and miss everyone.  Hopefully I will put a wrench to the pile of parts soon.  Ben

Pescatore:
Hi Ben, nice to hear from you!  I hope all is well in that garage.
Looking forward to read about this restoration.

Turin:
