Fish eye mirrors

slowmover:
Are convex blind spot mirror additions possible on bike mirrors? I love them on my truck and car but it seems they might have to be too small to be effective or they’ll take up valuable surface area if larger. Anyone use them?

someguy:
I have never found the need. The close positioning of the bike mirrors makes moving your head a bit change the view angle much more than in a car. And if the doesn't give enough view just turn your head.

You could always bring back the ‘15 mirrors on the scooter’ Mod trend.

I was thinking get some clamp-on convex mirrors to add to the OEM mirror stalks.

Strictly a Mod mod, though.  Nothing a Rocker would do.

brider:
I use them religiously on my bikes. 1.5" size seems small, but on my "normal" mirrors (anything you might find on a 70's-90's road bike) they do not obstruct the area of normal mirror significantly. Your eyes become used to where they are. I'll still do a head-check if there's enough traffic clearance, but if traffic is tight and you need to keep your eyes in front of you, they are lifesavers. Yes, cycle mirrors create blind spots.
