Hi all, The GF 7 I are planning a 4 day trip to Savannah at the end of Feb. Any tips, places to stay, must see sights and place to avoid?
Most of Savannah, as is Charleston, is owned by folks from afar. Nothing more discussing than some "Yankee" cooking grits. :BEER:Matt
They are all from New Jersey advertising "real Southern Cooking". :wife: :BEER:Matt
We enjoyed a walking tour of Savannah, such as this one: http://www.savannahrambles.com/ loved hearing how Oglethorpe laid the town out. Too, Ft. Pulaski is a short drive east and is quite interesting, if you like history of the Civil War, fortifications, and technological advances (the bombardment of the fort with rifled guns spelled doom for masonry forts).
Another fun fact is the Air Force dropped a nuke of Florence SC too. Maybe that's why people "down South" think there's still a war on.
Wayne, up stairs at Kevin Barrys is Ranger territory!
