Pete Hill is a Greenville SC-based builder, rider and racer. AMA Hall of Fame plus many others and claimed the Worlds Fastest Knucklehead record in the 90's. His supercharged Top Fuel Knucklehead is amazing. And his wife Jackie mixes all his fuel...
Jackie wrote a book about Pete. It covers their life deep in bikes. When Pete tried to race motorcycles during early NHRA-sanctioned local drags, they said "cars only". So Pete built a supercharged knucklehead-powered rail dragster and went racing. Pete told me "we didn't win all the time but I learned a lot about fixing broken parts..." And my favorite quote from Jackie is "that whole Happy Days scene- well, Fonzie was a dork. Pete was the real deal."
They're probably the two nicest, most unassuming bike people I've ever met. They've been married since 54. Several videos on YouTube of Pete racing on his knuckle. Often they include Jackie helping him stage the bike. They did it all together. all they do is motorcycles- Harleys only, but without any of the "Live to Ride.." wet tshirt, tattoo & leather vest scene. Jackie talks of how Pete would run 5 miles a day to stay in shape while racing.
Anybody that lives like that will like reading a book written like this- no ghost writing and ridiculous editing about motorbikes and the romantics of them from the perspective of a non-rider. Their shop in Greenville SC is on Facebook, probably best to call.

I bought my copy last weekend at their annual Christmas shop party. Reading it is like sitting around and listening to good stories. Lots of pictures, too. Well worth the cover price.
