Relocating to SC
« on: July 24, 2021, 08:10:26 PM »
Well, after being jerked around for the last 6 months on what my next assignment would be it looks like the dime has finally settled on South Carolina. I'll be working for Army Central Command based out of Shaw Air Force Base in the quaint little town of Sumter South Carolina.

I sign 8n on Monday and moving into an apartment in 2 weeks  Will likely be only 10 months, and maybe less before I get moved again so I just got a small apartment with a garage. Any wild goose members in the central South Carolina area? Look forward to plugging into the local Guzzi community.

Congratulations on the move to SC.  Hopefully the transition will be a good one.  I'm a couple of hrs away in Spartanburg, so not close, but glad to be a resource if I can be.

Some beautiful riding areas!  Of course, it's always a huge PITA to pack up and move.  Plan on having the bikes hauled courtesy Uncle Sam, or will you ship one or two and ride the others to SC at your leisure?  Regardless, good luck with your move, and enjoy your new home place!

BD9, you will be 2 hours from where my wife snd I have a place in Surfside Beach(Myrtle Beach).
We are there a few weeks a year and will be there for a month from October 15- November 15.
Hopefully we could meet somewhere around half way for lunch or supper. I think you will like SC, it’s a great state.

There are a lot of us in upstate SC and NC.  One good way to meet many is at the local annual Guzzi rally August 7 weekend in Cruso NC.  You can get more info on this site.

Can't make that rally as it is the moving weekend.

We finally have a deceint ridding day here but I'll PM you pretty soon. My cousin is in Myrtle beach and youtwo have a lot in common. Cigars, Guzzi's, good booze and religion.  Saying this doesn't sound right!

Just getting settled, hope to get out on the Griso this weekend, likely head to the Mountains, but my Dad lives in Wilmington SC, so will be by MB regularly if I take the slow route. I'm right off 378 which runs to MB. Give me a call if you are passing through.

Get ready for some Ward's BBQ.  Also, there was a guy from PA running the diner at Stumphole landing a while back and if he's still there he's doing a good job with his catfish and gator.
