Looks pretty sharp, kind of a CARBON DARK look

I would have to have the seat worked over to mate the tank better, and the side covers need some sort of treatment- I dont mind matte finish, but not paired with brite glossy side covers

It's an SP motor, so no chrome bore issues.. Those have iron sleeves right?

The thread by Scout63, was merged by a moderator. It was merged with a Thread about a Suzuki GS750

Charlie,

Sorry if it appeared that I was throwing Dan under the bus, didn’t mean for my post to come off like that. Just pointing out what happened.

Idk sh*t from shinola, but if that bike is a solid rider and runner, someone may be getting a bargain.

Real quiet on the bidding, will the usual last minute frenzy on BAT take place, or are bidders really put off by the niggly flaws?

I'm not interested in it, so I didn't look at the pictures.

If the wiring is a bird's nest, that'll definitely chill the bidders.

I wouldn't say birds nest but if you look at the detail pics, you can see little new loose wires running everywhere, which makes me think 'lots of little fixes, patches, and work-arounds'

HHhhmm, Well on one of my old bikes, I've got wires running to a headlight relay kit, relays for the coil & R/R feed and starter interruptus, some might curl their nose up, but sometimes that's what it takes to make it a good runner.

That's where it would be nice to be local for a bike like this, so you could really get a feel for the bike and owner.

this.

The seller knows the audience, that video is effective, to me at least. Nice location on the start button. Wonderful sound. Few more wires than  I'd like to see, but if they go where they should, that's ok.

had my iron lined 949 out last night in mid 40's. Bundled up pretty well. Gave no quarter, despite her age. She responded as she should and asked for more. I do so love these machines.

I had one of those seats for about a week. Hard as a rock, went back to the stock seat.

       Tks JJ

That's the only auction I've actually watched for the last 2 minutes, I was surprised that there wasn't more of a flurry at the end.

In hindsight, I think the lack of an owner history and an u/k past with the Vermont registration, probably cooled the bidding.

I felt for the seller, you could tell he raided his MG parts stash and threw some nice pieces on that bike, for what in the end was probably not as profitable as he hoped.

Re the comments about the Stuchi/Garman seat, opinions are varied, I love the look of mine, but I use a pillion size air hawk cushion on it,, nuff said, lol.

I hope that both the buyer and the seller went away content, would love to hear a long term review of the bike from the buyer if they happen to see this.

I too liked the look of that seat, but it was a rock and I assume they must have had different manufacturing fabrications because some people love those seats but the one I owned was quite uncomfortable.
