Title: Odometer Games
Post by: SmithSwede on June 09, 2021, 11:07:08 PM
Ok.  The fact that I document such developments confirms that I’m obsessive compulsive.  And other sorts of crazy.

Who else will admit to such stuff?

Somewhere west of Lamesa Texas tonight.

I would just argue that it’s very cool, not OCD.

OCD would be repetition and over-focusing on stuff that is the exact opposite of cool milestones like this!

Here’s to 123,456 more miles!

Your not the only OCD person here. When the T-3 renewed it's self.

You’ve logged some epic mileage on that V7 Prescott, everything IS bigger in Tehas! Keep passing those yardsticks!  When I think HARD CORE, I think PRESCOTT!

I always try to catch it when all the numbers are the same.

Believe it was in an Aerostich catalog that had a pic of someone's  main odo showing 123456 and the trip meter showed 789!  Spooky...

the odo in my 71 Fiat has been at 4865 miles since 1998...
i think im the direct opposite of OCD

Nope, i think the real OCD and anxiety issues would be noticing it's 123456, debating in your mind whether or not to document it, deciding to snap a pic but then having it drive you nuts that it turned 123457 as you pulled over.....

Y'all are looking at 'Grosjean numbers'. Look up Doug Grosjean. Great guy. A close friend I've never met. He's done many cool things besides popularizing the chasing of sequencing numbers on odometers. I travelled big miles for many years. At that rate The Man becomes unforgettable.

A favorite was doing Bun Burner Golds to 1600 mi in less than 24 hrs. (i added 100 to be certain). A favorite was San Diego to Strafford, MO. Home of the best biscuits & gravy I've ever had and my quickest 22 hours, including a Nickle sized hail storm.  72727272  This can only be done West of the Mississippi.  R3~

BTW: No Moto Guzzi's were harmed. (2006 SV650S, still serving its 3rd owner).

Somewhere in Canada on a trip to Alaska. The tenths on the trip meter wouldn't change.

That's a hell of a coincidence!

I do that, as well as palindromes.  I don't photograph them, though.

I enjoy such games as well.  A couple pics, of when my Mini Cooper S turned over 222,222 miles last year, and of when my Ducati M900 turned over 250K in 2016.

Muzz:   Those are genuine ‘merican miles.

You know, there are two kinds of countries on this earth.   One kind uses the metric system.

The other put a man on the moon.

Sorry.  Couldn’t resist.   :whip2:

Some times I think it should be in hydrometers....

We used to use mikes, does that pass the muster?

p.s.  My odo is actually in miles and the temp in Fahrenheit.  My speedo is in both and is basically unreadable on the metric side.  NZ new in 2003, so I don't know whose market it was originally destined to go to.
