I have always liked those ,JJ.  Classy seat and matching accouterments. Poltrona Frau leather sure beats the heck out of Corinthian Leather !
I still remember those commercials , with good old "Ricardo"when Chrysler was peddling their "K" cars!

That Guzzi is a purdy bike but isn't that model about the time of the hydro recall?

No, 2002 were solid lifters.  Generally 2003-2004 were hydros.

And those tassels are NOT stock!

You are right, TC!  It was the larger body, extra gaudy"B" cars.

Hopefully this is OK.  I didn't put it in the Swap Meet as it's not my bike and I have no relationship with the seller.  Thought someone might be interested.  It's a No Reserve auction.  The seller says it's a special 80th Anniversary addition.  Complete with saddle bags, fairings, whips, and chrome. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-moto-guzzi-california-evo-80/

If this shouldn't be here, then please delete it, or move it as appropriate.

Enjoy,

I HAD one of those Chryslers (not sure I should admit that).  Needed to keep several of the white ceramic electrical boxes in the glove box for random swapping when they gave up the ghost without any warning.

Mom had a Charger SE.. same car but Dodge badges. Hers had the 400 big bolck, and once we back dated the engine to loose the Lean Burn system it was a awesome car!!  And ya.. you didnt own a Mopar from the 60's-70's without having a extra ballast resister in the glove box!!

As for the bike...  were all 02's listed as "80th anniversary" bikes? My 02 stone metal has the decal on it.

I do believe they all had the 80th sticker on them, but the Anniversary Edition in the original post was a special limited edition bike, with the red leather bags, seat, and hand grips. Might have been unique paint but I'm not sure. They're real lookers up close. :thumb:

I've had lots of old MoPars and never carried a ballast resistor or had one fail.

The paint on that Guzzi isn't different at all. The paint on the tank is peeling!

Too bad about the paint by the gas cap.  That is a beautiful color that will give a painter fits trying to match.

I have never heard of a ballast resistor failing. I have been around Mopars forever. I had a Plymouth Cranbrook to bomb around the fields when I was 14.

I have a '02 80th Anniversary 1100 w/ added sidecar. They are nice. Couple things- the premium was $2000, not 3k. I thought 2k was high. The schmaltzy leather is really nice, although I don't expect it'll last as long as the bike. I treat mine 3-4 times yearly in an attempt to have it last. Pretty sure it's a losing battle, and the saddle bags are quite narrow. According to legend they made 200 of them and only about 35 made it to the US. They are numbered. The bags have finicky little luggage combination locks. PITA so I tape them in an open position, so they're not gonna lock & you cannot remove them unless you unlock & open 'em. Of course I have the hack, so I have tons of stowage. Mine has the decal on the tank. I do have the original brochure for this Limited model at home and can scan it for anyone wanting. I enjoy mine & this one seems a goodun' with very low miles.

I ride to work, ride to eat, ride to nowhere for nothing.

Did folks see this one?

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1975-honda-cb750-four/

Over $7,000 for a 1975 CB750.  That sounds crazy high to me or am I just out of touch on old Hondas?

   Holey and moley.  I thought the early sandcast versions brought big dollars.  By 1975, the Honda 750 was nothing special.  Who's buying these things for big money?

Well, not many of us realized that old Dodge Chargers were going to go for hundreds of thousand of dollars.  Maybe old Hondas are the new muscle cars.

Just take a look at what's selling these days and for how much on BAT (Bring-A-Trailer).  There are A LOT of people with A LOT of disposable lettuce ready to SPEND and BUY all kinds of vintage everything - cars / bikes / antiques / homes / etc. / etc.

By the way, original "sandcast" 1969 Honda CB750's go for $20,000-$30,000 today - - - and all day long!
