Ride from Guzzi event to event
« on: June 11, 2021, 02:48:51 PM »
Has anyone ever done a long ride where you went from one Guzzi event to another, and so on? Wondering how many events someone's been to all on one trip. What was your route?

Richard's doing that out Phoenix.  He left about a month ago.  Last I heard he was taking the Lake Express across the bottom of Lake Michigan.  Milwaukee, WI to Muskegon, MI to avoid Chicago traffic going to the National.  He stopped in KS for a local rally and will hit some other local rally on the way back to PHX.

I took the SS Badger to MI, down to Detroit and the Lake Express back to Milwaukee then the Cassville Ferry across the Mississippi to the final destination of the MGNOC MN National Rally aka the Moto Guzzi bike drowning.

See links below.

You mean the "Flood Nationals".  The year the whole MG demo fleet went under water.       This year the MN Rally is the weekend after the Nationals if anyone it traveling west.

Y'ep thats the one.  I was the last out on a bike.  Had to change the fluids out 3 times till there was no mayo.  Fortunately the bike was only in the water up to the top of the trans.  Electrics didn't get wet.  There was one rally goer that was the last person out.  He only had his shorts.

<tearing hour hair> Aaaarrrrggg! Can't remember his name at the moment.   Died in his 90s. From Oklahoma, I think. That's what he did.. ride from rally to rally during the summer. I was talking to him at the Wisconsin rally one year.. and he said, "Once in a while the old lady wants me to check in..

Yes, that'd be JN.
What is the name of the truck driver from Arkansas that had like 300K on his bike?  He was rather fun to talk to.

That would be JN Smyth Chuck, he once said he had so many oldest rider award plaques he shingled a shed with them.

I went from Steve Walker's Arkansas rally to the national in Buena Vista Ark. one year. I rode out to the Ok panhandle into NM and then up to the rally. Fun week wandering Colorado/NM.
