Flare Nut Size - updated
« on: July 17, 2021, 04:21:51 PM »
Im trying to get the callipers off my 76 Convert. One of the flare nuts is a bit tight so I went out at great expense and purchased a 10mm  6 sided flare nut wrench, to my surprise it's a bit loose.
Is it possible they used imperial flare nuts on the early Brembo's 10mm is just too big

Thanks David
I always used metric wrenches before especially on the bleed screws 8mm I think.

Sure enough I had a 3/8" flare wrench from my days as an Instrumentation Teck, perfect fit and soon had the fitting out.
I just assumed they would be metric, shows you can't assume anything.

Next task to get a couple of broken of bleed nipples out.

Always been 10 mm on every Convert I've worked on.
