2012 GT8V. Now has about 8,000 miles on it, and it's running better than new.

Beautiful bike Helmut.  Is Erfurt near Ausfahrt? ;D

I can remember when I first got to Germany back in '91 taking a bus from Frankfurt to Fulda.  After 24 hours of airplanes and airports I can remember periodically waking up and seeing exit signs for Ausfhart.  After a couple times I remember thinking to myself "Damn, you can get to Ausfhart from anywhere!"  I must have been pretty tired. ::)

Thanks!

Ausfahrt means in your case EXIT... and this sign isn t really rare in Germany

Ausfahrt also means Taking a ride/ making a trip...
so this last Ausfahrt was indeed near Erfurt. Erfurt is surrounded by a beautiful countryside and has a lot of nice roads to drive on...
and for take a ride in the evening: just perfect

cheers Helmut

Guzzi 650 NTX... never imported to the USA.  :'( It's old enough that you could do it on your own though.  ;-T

I love those bikes.

Yup it's an NTX 650. Fair few of them knocking around in Europe still where they go for about Euro 2000. There's an outfit in Italy that sells off NTX 750s that are ex Carabinieri/police. I think with low mileage circa 20k km on them when I enquired a couple of years ago.

Here are some more of the NTX in its element:

This one is in the rubber plantations outside Banlung, Rattanakiri Province, Cambodia, two years back.

This is the bike at a friend's farm up there in Banlung.

One of the neighbours

This is how the locals get around on their scooters in really muddy conditions. They deflate the tyres. Wrap a bike chain lengthways around the tyre. Connect the links and inflate the tyre. Home made mud chains. Wish I would have had a pair of them on my bike a day or so later when I dropped it on the way home.
