Jabberwocky and Lannis - thanks. You're right, I'm not concerned about authenticity; I build my bikes to my own taste. And as handsome as the Tonti-framed bikes can be, I just could not find a way to like the inherent angularity and plain jane graphics of the factory T3 tank. The rounded side panels against black on the tank are my attempt to soften those lines.  I pulled the footboards and lower frame rails from a donor bike, the rocker covers from an earlier project, the Lafranconis came from ebay, etc.

Hi,

me again, I was here 10 pages ago.
between then and now, more happened, I have changed more at my G12.
Last year, I have been  in Mandello again, during a 4000 km local road trip.
A magnificient ride with friends from Moto Guzzi Club Netherlands.
Now a friend made a picture from me and my G12 in front of the Holy Gate.

Last winter I checked the bearings at the swingarm and the front fork and greased them properly.

I brought my front and rear suspension to a specialist.
I have also changed my exhaustsystem.
I didn't like the a-symetric header system on my bike, so I bought headers from a Stelvio.
I polished them, made them fit my Griso high rise pipe and moved the oil cooler to the front.

I like the looks without that oil cooler lump at the right much, much better.
You can see those two uprising tits in the way it's ment to.
Now I want to make the black plastic covers from valve covers, the protectors from the injectors and front fender extender in carbon look.
Also maybe my flyscreen in combination with black paint and a "tri colore" detail.

I love my G12, I tender him like my wife...(in a materialistic way...).
All the love I give, I get back. Every ride.

thanks! started as a (2013) white stone, dealer did the custom paint job to the racer chrome tank and swapped it onto the stone. plastic fenders were swapped for some MAS aluminums along with a new led tail and turn signals.

Pretty. I like the old style crash bars. Are those common on the new v-7s?

thanks! there are a few different options for them, but the ones i went with are more true to the older crash bars.  the others contour the engine:

I really dig the eye-ball blow of red then the balanced sprinkling of "white" metals agains the blackness. Laid down plate, blued headers, gaitors...

Too bad we can't see the forest (behind it) for the desert.

Great bunch of Guzzis.  Love it.  You guys have inspired me.  Now I've gotta go and update my Stelvio thread.
My Stelvio just turned 3k today.  Here's Big Whitey wet and wild from a morning commute.  Other pic with topbox on - keep it off unless travelling.  My mods include handguards, Hepco Becker engine guards, Givi top and side racks, and Moto Centric soft bags.

Wow!  I like that a lot.  I'll take one in white.   ;D
Always kinda liked the Griso, but not keen on the stock over and under bazooka and the oil cooler hanging off the side.  But now I've got some ideas... :)

Nice work.  ;-T

It's about time I put up some photos of my 2 Guzzis.

No1 is a 1976 750S3 which has been much modified. I bought it dismantled in 2006 with the intention of restoring it. It had been off the road for at least 8 years following a wiring fire and during that time the engine had seized. However, I crashed my other bike in 2007 and so it was fitted with an 850T4 engine I already had and pressed into service. It also has V7Sport headlamp and 'bars, modern-ish Guzzi switchgear and a one-off wiring loom to match. Exhausts are T3 with tatty but lovely sounding Busso silencers. This photo was taken shortly after fitting a Cali frame rail and side stand. I had just returned from a run to see if it scraped the deck in corners - it doesn't. Fully loaded, it had rolled off the original sidestand.

No2 is my 1972 V7Sport. I am very attached to this bike which I bought in 1978. It was originally lime green with a black frame. I rebuilt it in 2002 and painted it all black. This photo was taken at the UK V-Twin rally in 2006 and shows it with the tank from the S3 as the original had started to leak.

As I said, I crashed this bike fairly heavily in 2007 when I left a mountain road and the bike (and I) sommersaulted down the hill side. This year I have started to rebuild "Rhino" as I call him. I have decide to finish the bike in burgundy with a silver frame. This is a colour scheme never available in the UK but, what the heck, I like it.This is how he is today.

I know I've posted this elsewhere but the tank is back from paint

I'm writing about the rebuild in my "Racing Rhino" blog www.racingrhino.wordpress.com

My new-to-me 500 dollar special. It's parked at the City of Refuge on Hawaii Island. Not much variety in routes on the island, but the riding is available all year round.

I can finally add a post to this thread, rather than just looking at the pictures and wishing.

This is my newest addition to the stable, technically it is owned by me, but is about as far as it can be from home (whilst being in the same country - 4500 km)
Can't wait to get it home.

In the meantime I still have a few bikes in the garage to keep me busy;
