2013 V7special.
Waiting on delivery of Sato rear sets and Mistral shorty canisters to complete the personalization.
I left the mechanical alone and concentrated on ergonomics and suspension. May upgrade the front brake if I feel the need.
For now; it is a nice lightweight touring bike.
One may write one's destiny but the unknown delivers it.

Appearantly I haven't put my babies up here yet so here we go.

The newest addition to my collection and joining me in New Zealand (V50 Nato - 1985 ):

My lady on the left, have been riding her for the past 6 years... Sad I can't ride her for the coming months... Luckily my dad takes her out regularly (V50 Nato - 1984 ):

Both my nato's together:

And this beast I already miss  :'( ( Sport 1100 - 1995 ):

I'm writing about the rebuild in my "Racing Rhino" blog www.racingrhino.wordpress.com

Very nice documentation of maintenance in your blog.  I'm about to replace dampers in the front forks so that's spot on. Thanks.

Yet another Guzzi

Helmut, I'm curious about your rear end setup there. It looks, by your brake pedal, like you must have a drum brake on the rear, but you have a later disk brake final drive. How does that work? I guess you need a disk brake swing arm, but then can you just put on the drum brake wheel and brake? My bike is made up of a mix-up of parts, and I went through some trial and error in the brake-wheel-finaldrive-ujoint area. I'm just curious how you put that all together. Nice looking bike there!

No mine has no Disk, the rear brake is a drum brake and original on a 850T. Mine is a 850T. Frame, Weels and brakes are gen, except the second /double disk on front. as often done in the 70th they are perorated for better peformance when wet.

Sorry no clue for question but i cant imagine any solution without using a brake cylinder

I think you misunderstood my question. I can see that you have a drum brake. I believe your final drive drive/bevel gear is from a later, disk brake model, and not from an 850T. I had thought that you needed a final drive box from a drum brake bike in order to run a drum brake, but apparently I was wrong, unless you did something clever to make it work.

Back in June I posted pics of my 2 Guzzis - An 850 engined S3 and a V7Sport underging a rebuild. Sadly, in September, the S3 was badly damaged in an accident when a car left a lay-by to do a U-turn as I was passing! It ended up like this

Apart from the obvious, the frame and headstock were badly bent. I didn't have any interest in rebuilding it so sold it back to the person I bought it from several years back. He is having the frame straightened and intends to restore it.

In October I bought a 1971 V7 700 which was imported from Italy a year ago. It's a military/police style bike and I'm not sure of its government history - possibly the "Vigili del Fuoco" (fire brigade) who apparently used V7s and Nuovo Falcones as radio bikes.

It runs well but I haven't been able to ride it yet although my broken wrist is nearly good enough. New helmet and leathers are ready!

Here's my entrance to the club (thanks to everyone who's given me help over the last few days!):

I'm working to get any of the safety issues / roadworthy parts fixed up for summer, then I'll be doing a full tear-down this fall / winter.

I sold the 850 engined S3 along with all the 750 engine parts I had from it's original engine. The new owner's intention is to restore it to original. He already has an S3 plus a number of other Guzzis. He has now had the frame straightened, a new steering stem made (the old one was very bent) and had the lower fork yoke straightened as well. It will live again but will take time and money.

I've had to do some minor jobs on the red V7 loop but it's being used. I'll still have to change a few things as my damaged wrist/hand can't cope with some of the controls. Last weekend it was joined by 3 others at the Moto Guzzi Club GB Clocks Forward Rally. It's unusual to get so many together here in the UK.

Hi all,
Just joined Wildgoose & want to participate in this thread.  My dad was the original owner.

This is the Ducati fairing it wears when it doesn't want to be "naked"

I'm planing to get this bike running again and who knows what after that.  I rode this bike only once (about 30 years ago) and wasn't comfortable with the right hand shifting in Los Angeles traffic.  It didn't bother my dad at all as he was a demon in the Santa Barbara sweeping canyons!
It has been stored in the garage since 1993.

Very nice Guzzi.  Others will know better, but I'd think you could fabricate some linkages and change it to left side shift.
