That's not right.
« on: November 27, 2024, 04:25:18 AM »
So I put new dampers, seals and oil in my 850T forks awhile back and finally got to bounce the bike and the noise coming from them is not great.
Sounds like the springs rubbing hard on the stanchions.
Any ideas?

I would measure the ID of originals and replacements, same with the OD of dampeners.

Update. Stripped the forks and everything was correct but springs were dry.
I did find that the inside bottom of both stanchions has a recess about 30 deep and 3mm or 4mm clearance on spring, it then steps down to 1mm clearance. Anyway there was a burr at this step which I polished out, oiled the springs and for what ever reason its all good now.
