Other than not breaking the skin, that injury was reported to be a compound fracture.

The guy is looney.

How long was it after Bazza had his 170 MPH crash at Dayton before he was back on a 500 ?

If he crashes on those legs and loses one, I'll be sick.
Is he realistically in the running for the title ? I haven't been following it for a while.

Huzo, yes he is in with a chance-the championship is quite tight and even despite a few problems Rossi is in 4th-and of course has to know he doesn't have a lot of opportunities left to win it.

Reminds me a bit of Doohan. At this level the desire and drive are way beyond us regular people, let alone the ability.

 OK , I deserved that . Rossi is certainly an icon , like an article from a few years ago stated , in America racers are heroes , in Europe and South America they are gods . At the Dallas SX some years back Kevin Schwantz was the guest of honor . Maybe 2 percent of the crowd even knew who he was , in Europe he can't walk down the street W/O drawing a crowd .

Not everyone is sure the championship is run so Rossi can win.

Anyway, he's already the greatest in my opinion. I'd love to see him win another one.

A giant off the track, for a lot of reasons.
Love to see this his last before becoming crew chief or similar.
