a couple unusual ebay offerings
« on: April 07, 2015, 05:26:17 PM »
Anybody  notice what's on Guzzi ebay right now.
A Lemans V going for $5K described as "Two years ago I hit the rear of an SUV going less than 15 mph and the front fairing basically exploded. I have all the pieces and the mangled sub-frame should anyone want it. The bike runs fine, there is no discernible frame or front-end damage".
OH and this little part at the end is kind of interesting:"This is a great bike and lots of fun to ride. The only problem is the fifth gear, you don't really need it unless you intend to seriously exceed the legal speed limit which I know that no responsible adult motorcyclist would ever do".

Not sure I have seen a bike advertised as not needing 5th gear. Who in the world would want cruise at 80 MPH in 4th.
And then there is the $6500 fire damage AMBO with lots of rust on the fenders.

Seems Guzzis are pulling some good money even when they are hum not quite in one piece.
I hope its these bikes are no one here and I just embarrassed myself.  ;D ;D

This is a better find:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Exhaust-Moto-Guzzi-V11-titanium-motorcycle-/141630109091?fits=Make%3AMoto+Guzzi&hash=item20f9cff5a3&vxp=mtr

Now they look very tasty, although I don't recall which V 11 came with titanium exhaust...anybody?

Looks like someone got them.  I'm not sure if any of the V11's came with titanium exhaust.  I think it might have been part of a kit that included the V11 "race only" ecm.

You could get a Coppa with the Titanium pipes and special ECU.

I'm the guilty party on this one. At that price and in what appears to be excellent condition, I couldn't resist.   ;)  They are somewhere between the Czech Republic and my place, at the moment.
Where are we going...and why are we in a handbasket???

Ride an 8/33 equipped 1100cc Guzzi sometime.  Especially a Quota or Sport 1100.  Then you'll know what he means...

I am going to miss the LA Rally.  >:(  I have to work a trade show in Las Vegas next week.  On the positive side, they are putting me up in a suite at the Palazzo hotel.  My wife saw pictures of it and immediately proclaimed that she would be accompanying me.  (Says she is going to be watching TV while soaking in the big marble bathtub while I work at the show.)

Regarding the orphan Boxer, our Veterinarian gave her a clean bill of health and contacted Home Again to try further to find her owners, but no luck.  Since she was found at an Italian motorbike campout, we picked an Italian name...Gina.  The photos below show what a hard time she has had adapting....

Since I'm going to miss the LA Rally, I'm going to go to the "Strom-A-Thon" in Llano, TX on May 1-3.  I love Llano and the area around it, and while I don't have a V-Strom, at least I will be on a V-Twin (with the cylinders oriented on the PROPER axis).  :)

I'm not sure I'd say absolute best, but the sound of a V11S (any variant) with Ti pipes is right up near the top in my book. They truly make a beautiful sound.

Yeah. Many have commented on Rosie's... they're not LOUD, just sweet.
