I have been waiting two weeks for Guzzi-U.S. to begin taking parts orders---what's up?

Well welcome here, are you a dealer or private person?

Just a rider. 2012 Norge. It was in for a service and the dealer found a cracked nut while adjusting the valves. Their version is that Moto Guzi was not taking any new parts orders until they figured out what happened to their parts system  or something to this effect

Sounds like bs to me.   But even so they should be able to obtain the nut else where. Another dealer, M g cycle or get part number and u can get it.

Guzzi was redoing their dealer website and had things backed up for awhile. Things are up and running again.

The adjuster nuts are a bit weird. 5mmx1mm? Maybe 5x0.75, not a common size and they are only an 8mm hex. They are also made of something quite hard. Not easy to mock up non genuine I'd guess.

Question is how did it get split? If it was cranked down hard enough to split the nut I'd be worrying about the integrity of the adjuster!

The Norge tappet nut is  common spare part and should be easily obtainable. http://www.gutsibits.co.uk/pr/TheShop/index.php?q=tappet+nut&f=d&Model=0&search=SEARCH

The cracking is a bit of concern but if they have been hardened then it is possible they are more brittle than a standard nut. Worth checking the associated parts for damage though.

8V 2012 Norge, bought new in Nov of 2013. The moto has been a bit troublesome.  Oil leak on the left cylinder right out of the box, head gasket replaced, muffler fell off at 200 miles, left cylinder exhaust gasket replaced at 5000 miles and then this problem at 6000 miles.  Love the bike, if I can just keep it running
