Sure.  No problem.  Where are you located Phx or one of the other towns?  We're heading to the GRIT 26Sept.  You're welcome to that too.  :boozing: :boozing:

We would start at 16th & McDowell in Phoenix and head towards NW towards Wickenburg or maybe not.  🤦‍♂️ I forgot going through Utah then left into Oregon.   :boozing:  Nevada after crossing the dam is a long boring ride with the exception of stopping in Beatty and going to the candy store.

National Moto Guzzi Rally June 28-30 @ Grant County Fairgrounds in John Day, OR.
I read some inquiries about finding a bike to ride at the rally, so:
I have decided to sell my '74 Eldorado California 850 as it turns 50 yrs old in 2024.
Fly out and ride it home from the rally.
I have other guzzi's in the stable, but as I get older I don't ride the '74 much, so it's time to go.
I'll post more in the "swap meet" and will find others here in the Pacific Northwest who will have a Moto Guzzi for sale at the time of the Rally.

Made a reservation at John Day - Dreamers Lodge. I’ll see if it happens but rooms are filling. Prescott to Ely, then to the rally. Return undecided. Long time away.

Since this will be a NATIONAL Rally involving three states:  WA-OR-NORCAL, what is the estimate on how many people / Guzzi riders will show up?  200? 300? 400? More? Just curious....  :thumb:  :boozing:

Good question.   :thumb:  My guess would be about 500 and that's being optimistic.  Most will be west of the Rockies with less than 50 from the Rockies to the Mississippi River then 20 east of that.  Nationals seem to be large regional rallies.

Biggest participation is in the Midwest, east of the Rockies to west of the Appalachia's.

Most would rather ride their keyboards.     John Day, Oregon is too far for most here.  Last time it was there, the Moto Guzzi demo fleet was there giving demo rides.   :thumb:

If I remember correctly, the 2016 John Day Rally had about 322 people...at least that's what the folks working the entry desk had mentioned...

500 would be amazing...maybe with all of the increased sales since 2016 a few more folks will attend.

It's a great ride there from anywhere...and lots of options to get there!

Y'ep, I was being optimistic.  After an absence, the last one in NH had about 425.  Without a National MGNOC Rally plus - restrictions, it looks like people are in more of a mood to travel as evidenced from this last summer.  So yes, optimistic besides 3 MGNOC State clubs are co-sponsoring it.

BMWMOA rally will be in nearby Redmond.

Looking at coming up through E. AZ through W. NM then into UT.  Don't want to go through CA or Navajo Land.

Look at this map / route....From Arizona, it's over 1100 miles+, one way...no matter how you cut it

Crossing the Nevada desert or the Utah desert in June is always challenging...

I'm leaning more towards the eastern part of the map and meet up with my former neighbor coming in from SW Kansas via Colorado Springs then up through UT and ID.  Been through enough of NV and the part of CA to want to avoid it.   :boozing: :boozing:

Those 3 routes miss almost all of the best roads. Consider these instead if you consider MC friendly as hugely twisty with great scenery

Can't comment on the best way to get from Seattle to Randle, but I have suggestions all the way from Randle to John Day.

Randle WA to Carson WA on paved Forest Service roads past Mt. St. Helens.

Hop from Carson to Hood River OR past Mt. Hood to Shaniko OR.

Shaniko to John Day on the Journey Through Time scenic byway. Lots of high desert twisties.

I don't recommend the road from Randle to Carson. I took that route to the Deep Wood rally two years ago. It is nothing but a collection of potholes and frost heaves. It was not a pleasurable part of my ride. I almost lost it on one curve avoiding a big pothole and hit another hidden one. It was a pretty part of the trip though. I didn't go home that way.

Marking my calander! Been a few years since I've been over that way on a bike.

Same here.

Is there tent space on site? If so how many can it comfortable accommodate? If 500 show would there be around 300 tents?
