Ambassador front wheel travel
« on: December 02, 2016, 10:26:01 AM »
I want to convert my ambo to dual disc to get the damper fork front end as well and am looking to use a cx100 pair of sliders with the ambo tubes. I can fabricate a bracket to adapt the center straps of the ambo fender so that it will attach to the backside of the cx100 slider. The problem is that the fender attaches 4.5 inches below the bottom lip of the ambo fork tube shroud when installed on the cx100 slider but 6.5 inches when installed on the ambo slider. Will the cx100 fork compress more than, or even dangerously close, the 4.5 inch travel so that this is going to be a dumb idea.
On another note, I made up a set of fender strut brackets that ride on the front axle similar to what recall were used for that purpose on my Vintage. anyone have an OEM set to sell me?
