yes, its early in the season and only one rider is "exceptional" so far

 Rea and the Kawasaki are a proven well developed package , Ducati has done something not easy to do . It is still a long season .

I've been following Bautista for a while, and always thought he was unlucky at MotoGP . Last year at Philip Island he got a current Ducati and wowed the world-his SBK performance is not a surprise.

The Ducati is wild, and I'm sort of glad they stopped trying to make the twin work. But look at the difference between Bautista and the other Ducati riders!

Forgot where I read but there was a rumor the brass wanted to switch Petrucci and Bautista after his performance

Maybe next year it could happen..
I often wonder how Bautista's career would be different if he hadn't bowled Lorenzo down at turn one a few years ago.
