Perhaps, if US police departments used a little humor instead of trying to be "robocop" their image and recent low level of approval would help, a lot.
Thumbs up to cops down under.

I'm sure that the horrifying crap that cops have to face every day knocks the "humor" of them pretty quick ....

My brother is a 25 year retired NJSP. I had the opportunity to see him in action once, bad situation. Yet he managed to turn it to where the purp actually laughed a bit a didn't resist the arrest. It was a drunk driving,  car wrecking mess. Attitude means a lot. It's tough to smile through that but that is why they are cops.
Too many officers go into a situation like that looking for action, sometimes they get more money than they bargained for.
My prayers are with them all, and once again, 'thumbs up to the cops down under'. ( I just like saying that)

I worked with Kiwi military flight crews for years and other countries from around the world. The Kiwi's were the best and most fun to work with. Their sense of humor made the training enjoyable while still being professional. Love the police video. I know where it's coming from.

The Kiwis have a unique take on things , interesting for sure . Served with some SAS troops , funny and still professional as mentioned earlier . We have our very own Maori tribesman right here in Oklahoma who plays for the Thunder , the guy has gained a reputation for being the funniest guy in the NBA .

It gets me to smile when they show it. We have quite an ethnic mix out here, especially in Auckland, so they are trying to get a much wider ethnic mix in the police force as well.

Our police force out here aren't too bad overall. The odd bad apple and of course the accusation of revenue gathering, but that is because the gummint doesn't fund them enough.

Just yesterday a story came out where a mother had her 13 year old type 1 diabetic boy have his ketones go through the roof. She jumped in her car, put the hazzard lights on and went for it. Got pulled over, the police didn't wait but threw him in the patrol car, lights and sirens and went for it. Got him to hospital 30 minutes quicker than the mother legally could. Hospital was able to stabilise him and he was home next day. Kudos to them. :thumb:
