"S" Designation on a Moto Guzzi?

If my memory is correct...but things are awfully crammed up there...the new, topline V100 Mandello appears the be the first Moto Guzzi to carry a common industry "S" designation. And of course, the first application of "Mandello."

The last thing I remember was "SE," which was the LeMans Special Edition.

I'm wrong ... 1934-40 Model S. It was a low compression 500 with just the overhead intake valve in the head (controlled via a rocker arm)...thus, intake over exhaust.

Don’t forget the 1974 only 750S. IMHO the best paint scheme ever on a Guzzi and the last of the Sport series built to a spec and not a price.
