NGC, for those who like all oldie makes
« on: October 05, 2019, 03:50:49 PM »
Hey guys. A while back I started a thread that I had found a 1983 Honda CB1000C in MI. After a fare amount of shipping BS, enough said about that, I got it home. Even though the bike only had 4K miles, it has been sitting most of its life. The PO, who was the second owner, his neighbor bought it new, had already had several hundred dollars of work did, tank relined, fork seals and supposedly the carbs rebuilt. However he got screwed for that 800 bucks as a replaced gas line was all the work preformed on the leaking gas issue, so I had to have the carbs rebuilt right. All my work was preformed by an ole certified Honda mechanic that I’ve dealt with for 40+ years. I also replaced the original tires with new rubber, bringing the total investment to around 4500.00 give or take a few bucks. I also found the match vetter bags and trunk and had them painted to finish the project. Still got to do the pin stripe to match the rest of the bike.

Nice, I once bought a 20 YO Goldwing with 250 km on the clock, it was a chore to get going again, brake fluid had crystallized in the lines where the metal fittings were.

Yea we pumped the break fluid out, cleaned everything out and put fresh fluid in. Same with every other compartment that held fluid👍

80-82 cb900c were great bikes. We used them at the WSPD from 82-89, they were bulletproof.

Well that would have been a benefit for sure..!
But.
It would be the rider that I’d be more worried about concerning bullets NC...!
