By this time tomorrow, you'll be clean as a whistle inside.

Meanwhile, enjoy the Jello.

I just went through this 2 weeks ago.  I’m 47 and did mine early due to my mother dying from colorectal cancer last December.  I had 15 polyps!! Some were “ pre cancerous” meaning they could be if not addressed.  So out they all went.  I stopped drinking alcohol because of this.  I used have 2-3-4 beers at night.  The drinking puts me at 50% more risk for the colon cancer.  Big wake up call for me.  For those that really want to shy away from the colonoscopy... GO.  It’s easy peasy

I had my second on last year, every 10 years, and there was a change last time. Instead of putting me in  Twilight sleep, they put me under all the way. I’m glad because I felt some discomfort the first time but couldn’t respond.

Last one I had they called the next day to check on my well being. I got really serious and told them I had a question. The nurse rather gingerly asked “ok what can I help you with??” I replied, “can you explain exactly how I got this big hickey on my neck???” The silence on the phone was hilarious!

Drinking that stuff is worse than most anything else I have experienced.
That is NASTY tasting stuff.
Other than that, it's an easy procedure.
I had mine while under, so I took a nap and when I woke up, your all done....

It can get better over time.   At age 55, they found 3 polyps, so I went on a 3-year repeat cycle.   At 58, they found two more, at 61 they just found one,  and my last one at 64 they found none, so I'm back on a 5-year plan.

For anyone who's risking a pretty horrible death because they're scared of it, quit worrying.   They knock you out and you don't know a thing.   Not a problem even for the worst cases of white-coat syndrome!

That's what they tell you to do.............it's about 5 gallons worth.  Wait till you expel bottom side and top side at the same time.

That's never been my instructions, and I've done it a bunch.

"FINISH IT AND NO FOOLING AROUND" is the summary of the instructions.   Although it does seem like the last gallon or so is overkill ....

My flush was easy! 64oz Gatorade. Big bottle of micro lax power to mix in the gator juice and like 4 small ex lax type pills.  Went to the can like 5 times that evening! Lol.  Doc said my prep was great.  Spotless clean

My doctor for my first colonoscopy found no polyps, but he did find that wad of chewing gum I swallowed in first grade art class.

I had my last one at the VA in Dallas. Wide awake and the Doc explained what he was seeing.

Thank goodness for indoor plumbing and no longer deciding on using the Sears or Monkey Wards catalog. Good ole days. BS.

Have you guys ever heard of H2O High Colonics, some states don’t allow it, some states like Iowa have private practices that do this with gravity flow tanks, takes about 1 1/2 hour to let a couple gallons go up the intestines to the stomach, than gently vacuumed out,you can watch all the stuff that’s been stuck in there just flow out. It actually feels great and you feel much lighter for days afterword. You can get kits off amazon to do yourself at home, but it’s much easier at a state certified establishment. I started this practice about 35 years ago after reading “The Bowel Book “ you got to keep the plumbing cleaned, this method is like maintenance of periodic bleeding brakes. What you guys are doing is equivalent to Rotorooter.

Thanks for all the support here, at least from some of you.
Back home. Only found one polyp. Didn't care for the long wait of about 1 1/2 hours in the prep room. Otherwise went as smooth as one can expect. Nice to be able to eat and drink again. That fasting thing didn't bring me any spiritual or otherwise supposed benefits, just made me sort of grouchy. Trying to summon the energy to go mow the jungle that was just a freshly cut yard a week ago.
