I needed to replace my Y fuel line under my gas tank and In doing so the other week we broke one of the fuel injectors but that was a good thing! I ordered two new injectors and replaced them last night and the results were amazing. No more popping during deacceleration, the engine is smoother, even at idle and I sense better throttle response. I guess when your injectors are 14 years old, new ones make a big difference! Looking forward to see if gas mileage changes.
Like I started this thread, I needed one fuel injector to replace the broken one on my 1200 Sport. Called my closet Guzzi dealer. He said they were $165 and he might have one but after checking, he did not. If he did, I would have driven 2 hrs round trip to buy it! He said if there were any in the states it would be up to 3 weeks to get in and if ordered overseas, 4 months! He mentioned that if I checked the number on the injector, I might be able to find it elsewhere. After a google search, I found that Harley uses the same injection on one or several of their bikes. I called the Harley dealer and yes they do use them, they're $65 but they don't have any in stock and not sure when they would get any in. I did an Amazon Prime search and found them for $17. I ordered three... replace two and have one as a spare. Like I mentioned, after installing both new injectors, the bike runs great. So I ordered two more just in case I can't get them again.
I have an '08 Sport as well. Might you have a link for the amazon injectors? Thanks!
Google : HiSport Store And look for IPW 162. Got mine From there on Amazon PrimeORGoogle IWP 162 fuel injectors (Looks like FL Tour Glide & Ducati Monster 696 use the same)3rd down: Best Deals2nd from left

Caveat Emptor. These are cheap knock-offs. I know a guy who used them in his Sport and it was over-fuelling. The flow rate is not the same as a real Weber-Marelli IWP 162.
I'd put in new outer plugs and check them at different throttle openings or not they should be consistant w/old ones. The no more pop on decell should tell you they are richer .
