Koni Shocks-Info Requested
« on: February 24, 2019, 12:07:30 PM »
Hello,

I have been trying to find the specs or more info on the Koni's that came with my 850T.   They have dual rate springs and no adjustment.   Does anyone recognize them?

Thanks,

BikeMike

The damper body is Koni, but the springs and lower spring seat are not. If you look on the damper body, you should find numbers stamped into them - i.e. "76F - 1282". There should be a aluminum preload adjustment collar and single rate spring.

Thanks Charlie!  I'll check the damper body for the stamp.  The springs and seat must have been an aftermarket addition..

The seat looks home-made. Ikon (formerly Koni) doesn't seem to offer springs of the correct length and i.d. - at least I was unable to find any. I did find Progressive springs there are very close, available in two different spring weights and are relatively inexpensive. I can supply the numbers if desired.

This fellow lists rebuilt Koni shocks on Ebay, I have bought parts off him in the past, he may be able to supply the collars for you.

Thanks Charlie,

I removed the springs and found 76F-1348 stamped on the damper body.   I am desirous of the Progressive spring numbers you found.

If you can't find the parts your looking for, you can contact Ikon for any parts you need. They are very helpful even though it's for Koni shocks.

I haven't found them helpful for anything concerning the (original Koni) 76 series shocks, they just try to sell me a new set of 7610 series.
