It'll sell quick.  If you're interested, you'd better call him.  Over the past few years, the range of sale prices pretty well brackets his asking price.

It's a bargain at that price, though it is missing all the original exhaust. What is the milage? That is the big valve, more desirable model.

Not I. Nobody will hurt my feelings by jumping on it. I'd love it, but my life will only accommodate a single bike for the time being.

Yea that's realistic.  If I recall it sold for $9K + back then.

That was their first attempt at a "Retro" bike.  I'd love to own one.

1991 makes it a big valve (lemans motor) Some calis also got the big valve motors in '91. Used up what was left I guess. No guzzis imported for 1992. Med valves for 1993.

Yes, I'd ask more for mine but it looks like new. This one looks slightly on the rough side but the picture could be better. Looks like he has Agostini rear sets on the bike, if someone on the list buys it make sure you get the stock hangers and ask for pictures of that front fender, because that crossover might have been denting the fender under front end dive. Those were model specific fenders and near impossible to find, though two came up for sale last year on eBay(the first time in many years) and I gave up after it hit the $600? mark. I have a after market V7 sport fender on mine and keep the stock fender on a shelf.

Agree!  I looked at one in NC last year, and the guy wanted about that same money.  I offered him $9500 cash (that's all I had!) :o - - and he turned me down! :o  These are bringing this level of pricing these days! 8)

Aren't the spoke wheels less common than the cast?

I believe that the spoke rims were more common than the cast wheels.

I'm pretty sure that cast wheels were more common on '91's and spokes on '93's. Mine is a green/spoked '93.
I still say jump on it, cause if you don't some one else will, the big valve models are as rear as hen's teeth.

I had a '91 big valve 1000S.  It was probably the most beautiful bike I have ever owned but really not much fun to ride.  The ride was stiff, seat like a board, throttle and clutch required more effort than I like and the side stand was a bad joke (too upright).  My first ride was from Roanoke to Tampa so I learned all this the hard way.  If money were no object and I had a museum this would be on display as a hanger queen.  The price is in line with the few that sell these days.  As I recall only about 170 1000S were brought into the US in '91 and '93 combined.

Keep in mind, Chicago had its 5th worst snowstorm in history Sunday. Test drives are out of the question for a few days.

Also, there's a lot the listing doesn't mention, could be that serious callers are hearing something they don't like....

Nah.  As much as I love them, I feel like I've already been there/done that.  I just sold a 1991 LeMans (same bike under the skin).

Next bike I buy will be a rider, not a collector.

I hear what your saying. I had a 93 ultima edizone. didn't do much for me and I sold it ridiculously cheap because no one was interested in it

I'm surprised about the stiff ride but the stock seat was tough and I changed mine to a Sargent and the 91 had bell cranks whereas the 93 ditched those wrist torture devices. Clutch pull doesn't seem any different to me than any other Guzzi without hydraulics. I wonder how many 91's vs. 93's of those 170 bikes?
