had one of my drivers in my office yesterday.

"You can pencil in Lester for two wins, no question. Cleveland may eek out 1 win"

I shook my head and told him there's no such thing as a sure thing and Cleveland mowed through the playoffs on their way to this series. Lester may end up looking like Kershaw did in game 6. He's an old Vet pitching on a cold night against an amped team and on the road....

Got the late night text, blaming me for the Cubs demise. All that confidence, lost.

Buck up Cubs Fans. This series will go the distance and come down to some punk, unconscious on adrenaline, making some epic play on pure reflex or strength....it's everything we watch baseball for. Only sure thing is he'll have a "C" on his jersey. Can't believe I'm gonna say this, but A-Rod was right...when's the last time Baseball was the most compelling thing happening in October, with everything else clearly a B attraction.

Lester's refusal to throw the pick-off, or even to come off the mound on defense, is a liability.

Lester will yell at the home plate ump and have little temper tantrums , but won't deal with his own glaring weakness . Baseball players tend to be very superstitious , some would even be classified as borderline ... well , strange . Remember John Wetteland , wore the same cap all year , never washed, the damn thing got really disgusting . Or how about players who step on the base lines entering the field , and hop over them when leaving

I don't normally watch ballgames, but watched innnings six through nine last night.

It was pretty enjoyable.  Cubbies missed a huge opportunity when they had the bases loaded with no outs on the board.

Looking forward to watching a game at Wrigley.  Should be an awesome crowd!

Tonights game has been moved up 1 hour due to weather. 7:08 EST, or something like that. They're trying to get it in between fronts.

Just in case people that want to know didn't get the memo.

My pup, me, and a couple of blonds are rooting for the Tribe but I think Tomlin has a ways to go. Hendricks was 9-2 with a 1.32 E.R.A. at Wrigley Field this year.

This is probably going to be a 7 game series , tonight's game was certainly a nail biter . Cleveland sure has some breaking ball pitchers , hard to beat in a series situation .

Coach Terry Francona (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Francona), son of Tito Francona (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tito_Francona), is from my home town. Lots of  my homie Pirate fans rooting for the Tribe these last couple days. BTW, brother Rick Francona (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Francona) is CNN middle east correspondent and former CIA spook. Still,  I can't help rooting for the Cubbies.

GREAT game. tension, tactics, total turnaround never more than a single pitch away. Great defense, clutch hitting, weather played role at times....actually lived up to the hype. Although if I were a Cubs fan and had just forked over a grand to sit on a stool.....I may have been a bit glum on the El ride home last night.

That was baseball at it's best. As tension filled as a game can get. In a National League park where they play real baseball with the pitchers having to face each other. That is what makes Arrietta (sp) so great. he loves to hit. And it gives the managers an opportunity to manage. Francona took a big risk last night pulling Miller and it really payed off.
Good pitching beats good hitting, but this one is too close to tell who has the advantage. This Pirates fan is rooting for the Tribe, but I expect it will be tense to the end.

I agree Fuzzy . Casual fans don't understand how a 1 to 0 game can be exciting , but to us traditional fans last night's game was a beauty .

Lackey looks good so far , if Kluber is on , we may have another pitcher's dual tonight  :thumb:
