The big brown truck showed up today and dropped off Moto Guzzi V9 "accessories".

This is the Givi 140S windscreen, with the Givi AL8202A "fitting kit".  The assembly and installation is straight-forward.

It looks a fuzz larger and darker in this picture.

These are the Givi TN8202 engine guards.  Easiest engine guards that I've ever installed.  One side at a time, simply remove the two frame-coupling bolts, hold the guard up and use the supplied hardware.

.
.
Tune in next week when we'll be installing the rack and side carriers.

Looks good!

What part of Missouri is Villa Ridge?  I grew up in the small towns around St Genevieve... but left at 18 and never went back.  Sometimes miss the seasons, natural beauty, and history.  I may have to visit when I retire in a few more years.

We ride down around  St Genevieve every now and then.  Still very rural and nice scenery.

I am at Interstate 44 mile marker 251, which is about 40 minutes west of St. Louis (and 251 miles to the Oklahoma border)

SO Far:
Givi 140S windscreen, with the Givi AL8202A "fitting kit"
Givi TN8202 Engine Guards

Today:
Givi SR8202 Rear Rack
Givi PL8202 Side Carriers
.
.
So, I get this laid out on the work bench and discover a lot of spacers of different thickness and extra bolts, washers, etc.
.

.
.
Put front wheel in a chock and strapped the handlebars.  Taped up the paint and covered everything and then removed the left shock and  both passenger footpeg assemblies from the frame.

Pull the two left side fender stay bolts and then zip-tie it back together and then remove the fender stay bolts from the other side.  Now carefully move the rear rack assembly into position and run in a couple of the bolts to the passenger footpeg assembly holes - just enough - and then rear fender stay.  Snip the zip-ties and run bolts in there.  You're gonna need to use a pry bar to open up the gap, in order to get those spacers in there.

After that, just get everything lined up and (loosely) install the remaining fasteners.

Givi instructions.  Well.....

OK, so you get a lot of spacers and washers and bolts and stuff.  I just took my time and started tightening up the fasteners a little at a time and that's when I discovered where many of those spacers went.  Some parts of the instructions are wrong.

Two of the fasteners galled on the way out and so there was a bit of thread chasing to do.

Helpful hint #137:  Make sure to re-install the shock before completely installing the side carrier.

Time for saddlebags.

Aluminum boxes?
Leather?
Plastic clamshell ?

The E-series Givi boxes just click right in there, but they all appear to be large.
Givi also makes some nice aluminum boxes in a couple of designs and they're available in silver or black.
I could fabricate my own mounts and then simply use any flat, hard-backed saddlebag.

What do you think ?

It really depends on how you are going to use the bike, and since you have so many to choose from that are better at touring do you think you need hard bags?  For me the bags would have to be white and sized to accentuate the look of the bike.  The style as well would have to line up with the shapes used in the style of the bike.

My V7 Carbon will never be used as a touring bike.  A tail bag and/or a backpack will be all I will ever need with it.

My vote would be leather satchel bags.

For me it woukd be box style aluminum easy on and off model. With these you have plenty room if you decide to go for a tour on her or simply remove for a day ride and around the neighborhood. Hard to beat the Givi.

For sure - it's a solo ride - so I'll only need MY stuff !

And, probably not for long distance touring - but a couple of days at a time is certainly possible.

Of course - I want it all.  Top-load, case capacity, quick release, best looks, FREE, etc

I had the same Tusk cases on my KLR, well made and hold a lot. The bike looks finished with the rack, very nice.

I had a set on a 650 Versys.  Very functional, and they went well with that bike.
