Possibly old news here, but I just had my 2014 V7S in to get the differential seals replaced under warranty at 13,000 km. I asked him to check for ECU updates and install them if they were newer than what I had. There were and he did (and didn't charge me for it).
The update makes a very obvious positive difference. I can now start and ride away immediately when the engine is cold. It has also cured the surging and stalling I experienced after warm starts (like after a stop for gas when the weather is very warm, say). It also 'feels' more responsive in general, but that could just be my imagination
Sorry, I didn't ask the mechanic beforehand to note the old and new version numbers, and they were very busy so I didn't want to bug them after the fact.
