Let's not make this a "hate" fest. We have plenty of other threads that are anti hipster.
With that said, I do really like the fact he kept it stockish looking, but with the soul of a racer with his lightened frame and drive train system.

:+1 I don't even know what hipster means , young person with a scruffy beard and a flannel shirt that likes motorcycles ? That would have described me , and probably a large percentage of the members here, circa 1970 :o ;D

Peter's an amazing mechanic and a great guy. He loves Guzzis, and he's done most of the work on Sophia since I bought her. Couldn't recommend anyone except perhaps Charlie Mullendore more highly.

My 30 something race bike rider is a major hipster and so are his friends.They treat me like an equal..........Is that a torque wrench he's using on the rear axle? If so, bad technique, jerking a torque wrench gives false readings ;D

I guess what I mean (besides enjoying the movie and all its silliness- I mean, Guzzi was born in hell?) if I had painted my LM gray, adapted a set of Sport 1100 forks and even did the frame rail eliminator I don't think it would have been worthy of a feature film and unveiling. But it's a cool bike, just like all LeMans.

The bike really does look and sound great. The performance mods actually do something without changing the bike. I'm glad that he tries to focus on minimalism without altering the original line of the bike. I would say that he steps over the line at the end, tho, when he says that "talking about motorcycles is douchy". That's a statement from someone who is overexposed and burning out. I feel the same way about boats. However- I certainly wouldn't say that in the company of friends who enjoy boats. As someone who works in the industry, it's partly my job to be an ambassador. If I am with an enthusiast who is jacked to be around boats, I should applaud that and feed his passion...because he is the reason why i have my job. In addition, it's just being polite.

That doesn't blanket make every opinion NOT hate anymore than dislike makes every opinion hate.

Just an observation over the past decade but a lot of this board seems to gets very righteously indignated about a lot of crap.

I really have no love for popular culture, but for crap's sake I'm almost inclined to like Hipsters if only for the popularity of things like Cafes ... what's the harm? Hell it's a lot nicer than bad-boy wannbe culture.

If they're having fun AND NOT HARMING ANYONE, who cares?
