That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

I use this one all the time.. CIGAR
Controls free and working, Instruments, Gas, Attitude of Trim, Runup. Along with Mike's GUMP (pre landing)
Gas, Undercarriage, Mixture, Prop.
That's about the only checklist you need for a simple airplane.
