Title: 1970 Ambassador on BaT
Post by: sdcr on April 15, 2021, 07:38:47 PM
This should be an interesting auction, as the bike has had some restoration, including the cylinders and pistons.

That appears to be a nice example in excellent condition...

Now the question is....HOW MUCH WILL IT GO FOR?

My prediction:  $6500-$7500...maybe more! :thumb:   :boozing:

It’s getting a lot of comments/ questions about the cylinders. Even so, since it’s bat crazy BaT, I’ll guess $8800, + buyer premium.

Why do you think it's not an $8000 bike? That was a $4500 bike about 18 years ago when I was looking to buy an Ambo.

You guys buy an Ambo for $2500, pump $5500 in time and parts into it and then complain if someone else does the same and sells for more than $4000.

As someone finishing up an Ambo resto that looks better and is built out much nicer than this one, I am pleased as punch to see it sell over $8k. Im going to be over 9 grand in mine, if I had the guts to total it all up. At least I know if it turns out the Loop lifestyle is not for me... I can sell it and likely go better than break even on it.

I'm already rocking the overalls, but mostly the Duluth Trading gardner's version.. As for the pipe, when I cruise by people start looking for Pepe Le Pew  :afro:

What's wrong with paying $8200 plus buyers premium? Nothing if you think you want to, what is that machine like on the inside? Mr. Mullendore has a better one for sale for $6000.00, at least its shiny where it is supposed to be.  DonG

Interestingly, about 80% of the motorcycle auctions on BaT are "No Reserve". That indicates great confidence on the part of sellers.
