Over the years I’ve done it both ways, jamnut not tight enough and came off, jamnut over torqued and broke off the adjuster. I developed a feel for somewhere in the middle .. one of those things that can get so routine that I had to make myself feel stupid at the cost of a couple pushrods and then repeat it a year or two later.

Good to hear from you all----Im guessing the factory forgot to check it as thats not a dealer PDI item

Next goal is try to recoup my 150 for the tow or work it into a free 1st service.

That's what I thought too, but I wonder if that's also part of what he meant by sounded like it wanted to start.

Maybe it was trying but couldn't sustain on one cylinder against maybe compression in the other?

I had a 950 Guzzi that suffered a Dyna ignition failure and rode 50 miles back home. We even stopped at a pub and several other times..The engine had no problem restarting ,it just was slow and shook like a wet dog..An injected engine may act differently...

Now go out and put a few thousand miles on it next week. and break it in.

A simple nuts and bolts fix. There is no code for that sort of problem. Some debate over if it would run in that situation but not knowing if it was intake of exhaust (at least if it's there I missed it) Either one would affect things differently and whether or not it was partially opening or not at all. Surprised it didn't make obvious clatter but on a bike so new to you it may not be so obvious as you aren't used to all it's noises.

My Audace dropped a valve at 543 miles. Fortunately the dealer still had it and the manager had taken it out for spin prior to my arriving to test ride it. I'm glad it didn't happen when I was riding it. I might have been blamed even though it has a rev limiter. Piaggio sent a new motor for it. I have only 11,000 miles on it now, would be more but for -. You just never know with a new bike. Fortunately yours was pretty minor.

Its funny you mention that, I did notice a bit of a winding noise prior to it happened, but as others have said, guzzis make so many noises plus it was new, hard to tell. Off to pick up now.

Bike is back and runs fine, nothing like a nice ride in 37* weather with 30-40mph winds...

My comfort tall seat was in so I put that on and its very well made, suede top and about 7/8" higher. Minimal back pain.

I was glad to see the dealer took their last V85 TT model into service and check it out as well

I had to retrieve two friends on separate occasions because the valve adjusters had broke off. Both had their bike serviced at the same dealership, now long gone. One on an Aluminum and the other on an 1100 Sport. I assume it was a combination of poor materials and over torquing the nut.

It did ok, I took a combination of back roads and the freeway as it was cold. Handles the road well, a little bit blown around but not bad-
