97 sport 1100. Fairing color inside ???
« on: August 21, 2017, 11:28:33 AM »
Hi guys, I'm getting ready to paint the front fairing on the sport.  It's been repainted at least once.. I'm not sure if the inside is painted body color (yellow in my case) or if the OEM finish was black.  Photos I found it appears to be the same as the body....  just want to be sure, I can do it either way.  Thx, dave.

The original color of the fairing inside was same as the outside.   Several of us found the color distracting especially at night and painted the inside black.  That and a headlight boot from a Ducati made night riding better with less light  coming back at us.

I ordered the headlight boot, Ducati dealer said it was for the 851-888 headlight.

I have two yellow 97's sitting inside the sheds, and I never paid any attention to the inside fairing colors, but yes, one of my yellow 97's insides is still painted in her original yellow, and the second one was overpainted in black.
