General Discussion / Re: Pre-delivery inspection

You have to be frustrated I know I would be. I'd think a non functioning brake/tail light should be easy to diagnose and correct.

Did your V85 have the noise since new? Have you ridden a demo or another 2025 and if so did it make the same noise as yours? My V85 is a 2021 with around 15K and doesn't make the rattly noise yours does on your videos. There are a number of people here with 2025+ V85's and I've not read any complaints about the noise but I've never ridden a newer one. TBH I think that noise would "bug" me especially since it's only emanating from the right side.

Maybe "Vagrant" here will chime in because he's had a number of V85's including a newer one.

If one follows Guzzi's line of thinking why put any lube in at all that way there would be no chance of leakage.  The designers/engineers originally called for 180 ml, then it was reduced to 160 now  130.  Something's rotten in Denmark me thinks

The dales and Grassington are among the most beautiful areas in the UK.  I hope I can get back there someday.

Howdy all.
Well, my bike is in the shop again. I was out on a ride a couple of days ago and it threw a SERVICE ALARM warning. Turns out I lost my tail/brake lights. Told it might be a relay or ground issue or something. Who knows. Not sure when I'm getting it back.
I had planned on doing the Iron Butt with it this weekend, but since I don't actually have it in my posession, and since it's still making that horrible sound, which I now describe as sounding like a bag of chicken beaks, my plans have once again been put off.
All of this is incredibly frustrating, and I'm told my noise is a "feature, not a flaw." They attribute it to the variable valve timing. I disagree. It sounds horrible and definitely not normal. I'm weighing my options at this point. Love the bike but can't live with that racket.

What I think is incredible is having tires that will hold together at such speeds and a vehicle that's stable. Powering an engine on hydrogen is a no brainer - that's all that's burning in gasoline anyway, which is hydro carbons. Hydrogen and carbon. The carbon pollutes while the hydrogen delivers the power. Same with alcohol which has also been used as a fuel. The 13 years of prohibition (1920-33) were mainly to stop farmers powering their equipment with alcohol by the oil interests.

General Discussion / Re: determine wires + or -
« Last post by wirespokes on Today at 04:38:49 PM »
My 70s and 80s guzzis are grounded to the frame. I'm sure there are places on the frame to mount some of them. And on my bikes, the wires aren't long enough to reach where they shouldn't go. In your case, though, I'm trying to figure out how to tell which goes where and haven't come up with a solution. Touching a wire to the frame wouldn't work since the power isn't hooked up. Things like heated grips will work either way but the accessory and USB outlets need the correct polarity. I think there's only one way and that's to figure out where each wire goes and sort it out from there. Normally red is positive and black negative, but it sounds like that's not the case with you. Please let us know what bike this is and what colors the wires are.

Never did say what model or what color the wire were.

The BMW was on his second to the last video. His was on the new V85 in his last video. His next video is supposed to also be about the new V85. He gushed over the BMW R9T but he also loves the newer technology of his latest V85.

Will he keep the latest Guzzi V85 with the RH engine noise that drives him crazy? Doubtful, he goes through bikes at a fairly good clip.
