V85tt heated grips compared to other heated grips
« on: September 27, 2021, 08:26:48 AM »
Morning all,

Took the bike to work today (50 miles all freeway) about 50* out. I put the heated grips on and dont seem to be real warm compared to my prior GS.

What say you? good, better or worse than previous heated grip bikes you had

Are they just on/off, or do they have settings?

Also how long were they on?

I know on my bikes with heated grips I always put them on high while warming up the bike.

Otherwise, my hands are cold before I feel the warmth from the grips so then they are playing catchup.

Once warmed up I can never set them higher than about a 1/3 of the heat range.

The grips I have owned range from OEM Kawasaki, Harley, Yamaha, Triumph, to Oxford on a few bikes.

It has 3 settings, I put them on about 5 minutes on the road and throughout my 50 min ride, my hands never really got warm, on my 2013 GS, I would sometimes have to lower them as they got so hot. Too bad theres no way to adjust something to make them warmer
