WG Rider age survey!
« on: November 27, 2021, 08:28:59 AM »
I just saw a post one of our messages made and if my math is correct, this gentleman is 85 years young, or there about.

Out of curiosity and want to give a hats off to these motorcycle heroes, let’s take a survey, so we can honor these gentlemen.

Any members who are 75 and older and still riding,  please identify yourselves so we can salute and tip our hats to you.

76, still riding but had to give up my Audace, too heavy and awkward at this point in life. Replaced it with the Bonneville. MG just doesn't build anything to suit my touring needs.

Turned 75 last April, haven't won an "oldest rider" yet. Had to sell my EV (weight & size) bought a new-leftover MP-3 500 scoot, after a couple years traded that for a '17 V7III Special, like it a lot, am modifying it to my needs/tastes. Still have my '74 Eldo (forever), and the '03 V11 Sport (reluctantly for sale).

I'm 79 and cutting my travel mileage per day this last few years. I certainly ride more slowly on curvy roads than I did, not that I was ever all that fast. I get along fine without a lot of horsepower, so I'm happy as can be with my V7. I sure as hell don't want to quit riding...

Might I add that Maynard bought my V7 Special 2 1/2 years ago and did a fly and ride.  He left NJ and took the LONG way back to Denver.  2500 or so miles at 77 years young!  I’m still impressed.

Honor and respect for our senior riders. You are an inspiration, and bring much motivation. I am honored to have inherited ohioriders 1200Sport and hope to be riding it for as long/same age as he did. That day is 15 years in my future.... #ibowinrespect

I turned 87 a week ago.  I had been hoping to get into Fred Marsh territory (100+), but that ain't gonna happen.  R3~

Having accomplished nothing of great importance in my first 84 years, I find myself rising to a position of prominence (at least on this forum) merely by rolling up the years.  Strict attention to diet, exercise and a gritty, pugnacious attitude, bit of luck and good genetics have propelled me into a not quite doddering old timer.  I proudly wear my red suspenders when on the Breva 750.

Surely, some member of this forum has me by a few years?

Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, as they say, I'll be 76 in a few weeks. While it's a chore sometimes to deal with the T, the only times I've dropped it is pushing it around the garage, it's till my favorite ride. The v65 is great on the gravel roads they have up here and is a lot easier to park, but I still prefer the T. Here's a pic after a hard ride in the White Mtns north of town. On a dog team, not a Guzzi!

78. Wife tells me I don't look a day over 80.   I plan to ride for as long as possible, mostly on my '98 EV 1100. I really enjoy dual sport/adventure riding so I may pick up something light to do more of that.
