Cheer up, Brian. You know what they say.
Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble, give a whistle!
And this'll help things turn out for the best
And
Always look on the bright side of life!
Always look on the bright side of life
If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten!
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing,
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps,
Just purse your lips and whistle -- that's the thing!
And always look on the bright side of life
Come on!
Always look on the bright side of life
For life is quite absurd,
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow!
Forget about your sin -- give the audience a grin,
Enjoy it, it's the last chance anyhow!
So always look on the bright side of death!
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true,
You'll see it's all a show,
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you!
And always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Come on guys, cheer up
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Worse things happen at sea you know
Always look on the bright side of life
I mean, what have you got to lose?
you know, you come from nothing
you're going back to nothing
what have you lost? Nothing!
Always look on the bright side of life

Ah, Monty Python.

The Black Knight scene as he slowly gets all his appendages cut off his hilarious.

The entertainers that we all grew up with are sadly aging at the same rate as us old codgers, and sooner or later we end up like the Norwegian Blue parrot.

It is interesting to observe what those guys have done post Python . Michael Palin actually seems to be the most versatile . It is also odd to realize they were only really active for 15 years , and the last 11 of those the group only made a movie every couple of years . It feels like Python was always with us , most of us of a certain generation use two sources as a type of shorthand , Python and Blazing Saddles , well maybe some Cheech and Chong on occasion . The Pythons imprinted on us in a way almost nothing else did , all it takes is the mere mention of a Swallow , or that Blue Parrot , and we are off and running .

I have a copy of Who Murdered Chaucer on order , Jones wrote several good books , and as Cleese once said , none were in Welch

I got the impression it was never particuarly harmonius, they got on but they didn't I'll quote from a relatively famous local rock band that broke up in the early eighties that recently got back together. "After 15minutes everything fell into place and we wondered why we broke up in the first place..... after an hour we understood exactly why".

He's probablly asking St Peter about is wife if you know what I mean! nudge nudge.

Most of the time groups of creative people require some  :boxing: to do what they do . Even before Python , Graham Chapman and John Cleese were known to almost come to blows . Seem to remember reading somewhere it was Eric Idle who was the peacemaker , he wasn't afraid to appear silly off screen to calm the other rather large egos involved in the Pythons when they were bickering . All of those guys were highly flawed , and brilliant .

Was it Chapman who stated that the argument clinic sketch was taken from real life in the troupe ?

That's from a band that's had 7 or 8 different guitarists and three or four singers an at least three different line ups.  I can't guess the breakups and divorces but the decades lingering deal with Stevie caused her to kick Lindsay out and replaced him with Mike Campbell.
