Clutch cables generally take on a lot more while throttle cable pulls are lighter. Most failures occur at the barrel end by the lever because the barrel stops rotating and the cable has to bend. A little grease on the barrels and lever will dramatically prolong cable life. The /5 eats clutch cables more quickly so I zip tie a spare alongside.
The loop should be easy to ride if a throttle cable goes (depending on where), lift the cable out of the adjuster on top of the Delorto and sit it on the edge gives you about 20% throttle. You could also switch the enricher cable over to the slide and ride home that way. Really though I think you have little to worry about.
