MG Frustrations...
« on: September 22, 2021, 10:32:50 AM »
So i damaged the left side spark cover cast bit on my bike, so I called Harpers and asked for a new one... 2 weeks later they called me back and said that it as on backorder at the factory with no ETA available... (thanks to a member here for sourcing me this part)

Now i have a scratch on my handle bars, and again i made a call to get a new OEM replacement...  and guess what,  same story !!

My bike is an '18, not new, but not a 20 year old machine either, it's also a V7 that i am betting is the highest selling model MG currently has.
why can't / won't MG support their product with something as simple as spare parts ???

I have a 20 year old honda in my garage that i can get any part i want for it...

this is my first goose, and i love the bike, but the support if just frustrating...
Nothing much better than a Tannat from the Salta region.

There are worldwide supply chain issues right now.  I can't even look at a new Yamaha, nevermind buy one.  Can't even get bikes so obviously parts will be an issue.

You can buy factory body parts and factory handlebars for your Honda today?  Have you checked?

Concur with the supply chain problems plus guessing Italy just recently came off the summer vacation shutdowns. I am trying to do some appliances and furniture shopping for our NM house and it is a bit of a challenge. Just try and obtain an upright freezer right now.

Have you tried anyone else who might have some in stock?

AF1?
MG Cycle?
Someone in Europe?
Someone in Cali?
Ebay?

I wouldn't just rely on one supplier for MG parts. It's too much of a boutique brand. Honda and the Japanese brands are probably much larger in production number. Know what you're buying into before going Guzzi. Have patience or be ready to go DIY (and truly make it your own!).

I can help you out Alfetta, at least with the spark plug cover.  I have a perfectly nice pair sitting on my garage shelf, as I bought fancy Red valve covers from Cadre last year when they were on sale.   This is what I think we should do, PM me with your address, and I will send one to you, then when your's finally comes in, you will send your's to me, sound good?

Call the 800 number in NYC or send Guzzi an Email with your frustrations, it's the only way the wagon wheel get's greased.

Maybe Alfe died out of frustration?  I suggested he pm me , when he didn’t I pm’d him, to no avail.
