Title: Britten V1000 vs Raceco Moto Guzzi, Bears Brands Hatch 1995
Post by: cliffrod on December 07, 2022, 02:32:47 PM
Old posting (2012) so probably posted here before.  No audio at all, so should be a nice relaxing watch for all those big-quiet-muffler-loving folks….

I believe it retired with an electrical problem........... Was a Britten 1, 2 finish. Shame about the audio in the clip, surely there must be the original audio somewhere.......... ................... ...

The #1 Britten before the fun police made them fit a muffler was a "sensation" to behold. Not only did it have a beautiful deep sound, I could feel my chest vibrate as it went past.

I believe it retired with an electrical problem.
It did…
The crankshaft came out through the side and knocked the generator off…

Cool video! I got a close look at the Britten at Daytona in '92. Incredible engineering for a homebuilt... Saw a leg of the John Player Transatlantic Trophy Race (Yanks vs Brits) at the Hatch in '75. Barry Sheene was the darling of the Brit race fans.
