I don't pressurize them at all.

 Thanks Charlie , my friend states there were no instructions , the Schrader valve led him to believe some air is needed .

The valve doesn't pressurise the damper cartridge, it pressurises the leg. It's effect is minimal unless there is too much oil in them in which case it will just encourage the seals to pop if you blow them up too much!

As Charlie says, leave them alone. Although you could get some of those fetching 'skull' tyre valve caps for them to make your bike look 'Bad Ass'! :grin:
