Title: CO2 trip clarify please -so much to read
Post by: SemperVee on November 20, 2022, 07:13:52 PM
On CARC 07 Norge.   Set the TPS 4.6.  Balanced the Throttle bodies and reset the changed TPS back to 4.6

It idles and runs fine, but does smell like there is some unburned fuel.   From cold start goes to 1200 rpm then settles down into a nice steady 1000 RPM very quickly.   I'm guessing it must be running a little rich as I have been riding in town only and only put in Non Ethanol Premium gas and
getting 30-32 MPG?  Has K&N filter and Staintune pipe with a little muffler hiccuping when rolling off down throttle.

No hiccups or hunting going up thru the throttle or gears, seems pretty smooth &  no issues at any speed up to 80.    Completely stock unmolested map.   Don't know anything about open or closed LAMBDA setting or if I need to?  Have NOT done "reset the Auto learning parameters (ECU fuel trims)"   Do I need to do anything about resetting relearning or knowing about on/off  setting or open/closed (Lambda) if this is a closed loop stock map that runs well?    *What Should I be looking for in GD to check?  What should the CO trim be?

Thanks

That fuel mileage seems pretty low. 2V Norges usually get +10 more. Did you read what map is in it? Do you know if owner modified it? Maybe reset self learning for some help. If the O2 sensors are not turned off the CO Trim doesn't effect it. It will still go open & closed loop. You should be able to see that with Guzzi Diag. It should also tell you the mapp # and when installed.

Just looked it up in my paperwork, Service Moto Guzzi site 9/18/2009 2V Norge is 2230NG18 the latest map stock from Guzzi. From this it looks like it was 2230NG17 then 2229NG1224 then 2230NG18. I was remapping at this time for 2 different dealers on the factory Axone software.

IIRC the target idle speed warmed up is 1200rpm and if it's idling at 1000rpm that would suggest something is amiss as the idle ECU/ICV controlled

I suggest that you take a look at the ICV

Thank for all the info Steve,  Original owner map, Yes.  He had never in 15 years adjusted the TPS or gave it a TBS even as he was very thorough in valve adjustments, inner & outer spark plug changes and oil changes.  Here is the map info.  Built in 2006.09.14  Map 2229NGR1207. It was a very early Norge GT build in October of 2006 according to the VIN.

Looks like an early map number. I would say to stick  a known good map in it not owner adjusted. He differently got it wrong, one reason not everyone should be doing their own mapping just cause they can. Overfueling will do more damage than stock.

He never did anything.  This is the un adjusted original map  - as much as I know unless it was changed at MI for some reason. Where would I get a different updated map?

You could get a Beetle map and install yourself. OR get a tuning box from GT, Todd has a mapping box he sends out, it resets stuff also for service.
All depends on your comfort level on doing computer work on your bike.
I have to be able to do both and more. My customers have both Power Commanders &  GuzziDiag running equipment. I also have a MyECU on my EV which is great stuff just not for newer models.

Are you comfortable using GuzziDiag ?  Use It. Reader & Writer work fine.

Yes I have been using GuzziDiag without issue on my MAC.  I also have a looks new K&N air filter and Staintune pipe that came installed on the Norge when I purchased it.

I use this old W7 laptop. Don't know how the Reader & Writer works on a MAC. Beetle can adjust it or have one already for open in & out.

Just looked, seems they run on MAC OS X.

Steve,  I should have clarified,  yes I have reader and writer both installed and working inside GD.
