Title: Spare/Replacement Key for CARC Guzzi
Post by: leafman60 on November 21, 2022, 06:50:47 AM
Sorry to bring this up again.  I've read over several threads concerning this.No disrespect but there's a lot of thread fog there.  Sounds like I get a blank and then send it off for cutting and programming.

Can someone please give me the Sesame Street, simple steps required for me to get a new key for my 2016 Griso???

Thanks in advance.

Do you only have one key right now?

If you only have 1 Key you have to buy a blank w/chip, then sidecut it, then you program it yourself w/ignition code and key that works.
Instead of reading threads(misleading sometimes) it's in the manual.
If you have 1 key and no code you have to send dash to Carmo or buy new one.

Steve set me straight.  Thanks ole buddy!  Steve is probably the most knowledgeable Guzzi mechanic (tech) that's ever graced our presence on Wildguzzi and he does it all while being first-class and polite. No rudeness or misplaced and inflated ego trip with Guzzisteve.

My 2019 Bobber Sport only came with one key. I do not know if it is the same but...... I bought a blank - non chip key at a site recommended by the local locksmith. He then copied the chip program from the original key on to a chip he had. Glued that chip to the blank hey that he cut. It worked and since I had a second key, I never lost the original. ;)
