Well, I wasn’t really planning this, but I came across a 2004 Supersport 1000ds for sale locally with 6000km that had some unaddressed road rash on the right side…I went to see it and made a call to a good friend of mine who is quite the craftsman.  I lowballed him and he took it!

After some sorting, mainly repair of the Termignoni can and buffing of paint, she was looking good.  We also dropped new racetech springs in up front as the sag was way too much.

I’ve also added some German bar risers which made a big difference.

Wow this thing goes real nice.  I have always missed my ‘97 900, and this one is so much better.

Still miss the v7 sometimes and still love Guzzi…

Nice - also a great bike without the fully adjustable fork and Ohlins shock.  If it helps, I got mine for the equivalent of about $4200 USD

Although I like the earlier 900SS bodywork more, the 1000ds motor is really pretty exceptional. Looked at one a few years ago, since missing my 94 900 SS. I thought the power and throttle response was excellent.

Yes.  It wheelies easily, even when I’m not trying to…the FI is excellent.  The styling has grown on me and I actually like it.  These bikes are presently a good value, and they have better running gear than the Sport Classics which have gone nuts price wise - I know they are different.
